Great Lakes Takeover

Our 7th Annual Great Lakes Takeover is Saturday, January 30th, 2027, in the Milwaukee Suburbs (TBA 8/31/2026). This event sells out each year and is open to all types of teams, travel, feeder and school teams. We draw teams from Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois & Wisconsin, which provides an opportunity to play different competition. This tournament entry fee is $235 for 3 games and is OPEN TO ALL TYPES OF TEAMS, TRAVEL, FEEDER & SCHOOL TEAMS. We offer A & B level divisions, when possible for 3rd through 8th grade teams, for both for boy’s teams and girl’s teams.

Evolution was created for coaches, by coaches, providing the experience that players, coaches, fans and officials deserve!

• NEW – The Coaches Guarantee: In the event we can’t field enough teams for a specific grade & skill level division (for example a 6th Grade B level only division). We will seek the head coach’s approval to move their team up to the 6th Grade A Division, down to the 5th Grade A Division, issue a credit to a future tournament or simply provide a refund! Most importnatly we will operate in a manner that should a Coach elect for a refund, they will have enough time to find another event the same weekend.

• NEW – Ticketing Options: This coming season we have returned to accepting Cash, Venmo, CashApp & Credit Cards at the gate so fans have all necessary options for them and for the 4th season in a row we’ve kept our admissions prices the same!

• NEW – Evo Concessions: By popular demand, this season we’re bringing back our expansive concessions! Enjoy the full experience, great basketball, officiating, food and drinks!

• Collegiate Level Officating: This has been our focus for ten years, providing the highest level of officating possible. We pay above market for our officials so that we can offer high school state playoff and college level of officiating. Our officials wear customized Evolution uniforms with a jersey number on their back so coaches can provide feedback via our QR Code survey which is on every scores table. Coaches feedback determines individual official’s level of pay! This helps to ensure we’re offering the most consistent officiating possible for players, coaches and fans!

• Unique MVP System: We offer an MVP system unique to the industry that rewards excellent individual performances that lead to their team a win. Each game there is an MVP selected, this player has their picture taken and promoted on our social media, and the player on the championship team with the most MVP votes is the tournament MVP and receives a customized tournament MVP trohphy.

• Medals & Trophies: Customized medals for the champions and customized trophies for the tournament MVP’s!

• Rules That Protect the Integrity of the Game: Advancing the ball to half court after timeouts, stop clock the last five minutes of close games & no sudden death overtimes!

• Organized & On Time: We also pride ourselves on being organized before and during our events, have on time games with an approachable and visible staff.
